The
idea here is to get yourself a nice dose of Power, Stolen Bases and
either a top flight Pitcher or and addition to your Power or Speed.
The perfect example is Pick #5 with Arod, then Hanley, then a top
flight Pitcher. You have Arod as your main power source, Hanley as
the main speed source and Zambrano as an ace. Or go with all
hitting like #12 and get a starting pitcher or two next at picks 4
& 5 for balance! |

Do
you start to see a pattern? If you get Pujols, the best
fantasy producer in the league, my suggestion is to follow that up
with the best available Starting Pitcher to compliment Pujols and
you will undoubtedly have a choice between Halladay, Oswalt,
Carpenter, Peavy and Zambrano by the time pick #24 & #25 come
back around. This works because you can still grab another top bat
at #25 like Sizemore, Dye, Aram, Wells, for example. |

Here,
we start off in a different direction with Soriano as the first pick
followed by a power bat at #24 and the a top flight pitcher with
#25. That's how you draft a balanced team!! That's almost a
perfect combo of Power, Speed, and Pitching in the first 3 rounds!
Some leagues will also see Howard and even Arod go first as some
people are still loyal to Arod. |

In
this scenario, we see Santana go quite early as he will in some
drafts, and rightfully so. That person can come back later and
potentially grab Holliday and Lee with their 2nd & 3rd
picks. If you are paying attention in your draft, you can
really capitalize by drafting a balanced team or notching 3 top
hitters and waiting on pitching like some people like to do. |
